Cost Explorer
Cost Explorer estimates what a documentation run will cost before you start it. It is available from Administration → Cost Explorer (/administration/cost-explorer).
You can base the estimate on a real repository's measurements or on a manual what-if workload, choose which documentation outputs to include, pick the models, and read a low / expected / high cost range.
When to use
- Compare model choices before creating a process.
- Estimate the cost of adding outputs such as diagrams or epics.
- Plan a documentation run for a repository that is not indexed yet, using a manual workload.
Workload source
- Project measurements: select an indexed repository. Cost Explorer uses its statistics and indexed source (lines of code, files, symbols).
- Manual workload: enter the numbers yourself to model a scenario without selecting a repository.
Documentation outputs
Select the outputs that should count toward the estimate: AI enrichment, repository overview, user stories, epics, diagrams, and backlog diagrams. Only selected outputs contribute.
Models
Choose a model from the standardized catalog. You can set one default model or assign different models per task phase. The panel shows the pricing tier and effective catalog price for each choice.
Estimate
Calculate estimate produces:
- A low, expected, and high cost for one documentation run.
- Input and output token totals.
- The LLM total and the platform total.
Use Export CSV to download the breakdown by phase, model, tier, and tokens.
